School Meals at Oaklands Primary School
We are members of the Ealing Healthy Schools' Project and encourage all children to eat a balanced diet.
From September 2021, our school meals are provided by ISS Education.
Please note that even though the children in Reception to Year 2 receive universal free school meals, you still need to register your children's details with ISS.
Universal Free School Meals for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
All children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to universal free school meals via the government initiative.
If your child is joining Year 3 in September 2021, you will need to pay for your child's school meal in advance before the meals are taken. Please scroll down to the bottom to register your child today!
The price of school meals is £2.35 per meal (£11.75 per week).
Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6
For children in Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 the price of a meal is £2.35. Please note all school meals must be paid for in advance.

- Income Support
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Assistance from the UK Border Agency
- Child Tax Credit with an annual income less than £16,190 and NOT in receipt of Working Tax Credit

It is important to us that all children eligible to receive free school meals are registered. This will enable the school to receive additional funding to support your child with their learning.
It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to register, however if you require some help with this please speak with Mrs Sihra or Mrs Jamiru in the School Office. For more information on how to contact us, click here.

Special Dietary Needs

- ISS Special Diet Referral form
- ISS Dietary Safeguarding Policy
- ISS Dietary Safeguarding Process
- ISS Primary Nut Policy
- Packed Lunches
If you would prefer for your child to bring a packed lunch from home, please ensure that ISS are aware of this so that you are not incorrectly charged for meals. It is important that packed lunches provide as healthy and balanced lunch as what they would eat at home.
This means plenty of foods that contain the nutrients that children need and fewer foods high in sugar and saturated fat.
School Meal Debt
Whilst the majority of families keep their school meal account topped up, there are some parents who persistently run up debt on their school meals account. Where these debts are incurred the school is charged, this means that money which should be spent on our children’s education is used to pay for debts accumulated by a minority of parents.
From September 2021 we will have a one week rule which means that you are not allowed to be in debt for school meals by more than £11.75. If you are in debt for more than one week, your child will not be given school meal and you must provide a packed lunch.
In these circumstances, parents will initially be sent a text message advising them of the above.
We would like to remind parents that it is a parent’s responsibility of care to ensure that food is provided for their children at lunchtime, not the schools. Please keep your school meals account topped up.
Payments can be made online via www.feedinghungryminds.com, or by debit/credit cards using the telephone to ISS staff at their local Ealing Office, 020 3903 0412.
